Job Description

Job Description: Primary Purpose: Under minimal direction, provide technical direction for the design and development of application software for systems, perform software management, design, development, flow analysis, detailed design flow diagrams, structured charts and Program Description Language for each software system. Serve as Subject Matter Expert to develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based on documented requirements. Works individually or as part of a team. Duties and Responsibilities: Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features, to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements Implement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards Provide specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components Serve as a team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular project Direct and mentor junior engineers Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design Design or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints; Perform quality control on team products Perform code reviews Follow project processes Manage day-to-day team activities and priorities Provide regular status and support project management Provide estimates of effort and schedule for tasks being planned Travel to other LGS Locations or Customer Sites as necessary Understand and adhere to all LGS Ethical and Compliance policies Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to LGS EH&S policies and procedures Perform other duties as required If required, obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level to perform the job Minimum Qualifications: Skills and Knowledge: Eight to twelve (8-12) years of experience as a software engineer Subject matter expert in software design and development Java or C++ experience working in a Linux environment Experience with configuration management systems TS/SCI Required Minimum Education/Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university and 8-10 years of related experience or a combination of education and related experience. Four (4) years of additional software engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree Preferred Qualifications: N8:N9With Polygraph desired Masters Degree Desired Basic understanding of signal processing applications (Desired) Javascript and web development experience, desired Experience with SIGINT systems and data analysis, especially working with legacy processing software, desired LGS Innovations and its subsidiaries are wholly-owned subsidiaries of CACI International, Inc.
