Senior Software Engineer, Android Strava

About this role

We're looking for an experienced Android Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will expand, and improve upon, our Android application and help define the future of mobile at Strava.

As a Senior Engineer at Strava, you will work closely with, and incorporate feedback from, product management, designers, QA, and other engineers. In addition to committing code, you'll be responsible for the growth and mentorship of junior engineers and establishing best practices for you and your teammates.

About You

* BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
* 5+ years of professional native Android development experience
* Extensive knowledge of the Java programming language
* Experience defining, instituting and following best practices for coding, testing, documentation and agile process standards
* A strong understanding of the Android framework and how to use it to create beautiful user interfaces that are dynamic and responsive
* Comfortable identifying and solving software issues using tools like the Android Profiler and adb
* Persistent in the face of roadblocks and proactively attempts to resolve technical, process and people issues when they arise
* A track record for producing well tested and well-documented code that can be understood by other engineers

* Experience developing in Kotlin
* Experience developing with RxJava
