Description
The Senior Software Engineer designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs application software. Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting. End product may be special use, customized, or commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs. Ensures software standards are met.
* Develop, design, test, maintain and support custom application code and COTS/GOTS upgrades.
* Collect software requirements and/or Agile Epics & Stories and develop and/or stabilize the application, per the customer requirement.
* When necessary, refactor code and/or guide team members to refactor or replace code, after determining the most efficient path to stabilization, making inter-system or component tradeoffs.
* ABET-trained engineer with extensive software development and operations experience.
* Support analysis, design and implementation of application changes.
Qualifications
Required
* Bachelor's degree and fourteen (14) plus years of experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more of experience.
* ABET - trained engineer
* Software development experience across legacy and modernized technology stacks.
* Experience with Open Source software; Java, Open JDK8, Open JDK 11, C++, J2EE
* Experience with Oracle Database Client 11.g, Oracle Database Enterprise Edition 18c, MySQL database, or Percona Server for MySQL 5.7
* Experience with Business Process Management products; SAP Crystal Enterprise 10, Visual Basic, Visual C#.Net, Visual Studio, or Adobe products.
Desired
* Highly desired experience in Cobol, Coolgen, BRS
* USPTO knowledge is desirable
