Job Description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

As a Machine Learning developer on the Oracle Data Science Cloud Platform team, you will have a hand in the design and delivery of a high-quality cloud service with the capabilities, scalability and performance needed to match the needs of enterprise data science teams and enterprise application development teams. Should have deep experience with designing and developing machine learning, deep learning, and artificial intelligence based solutions for solving real-world business problems with large and complex data systems.

Qualifications:

* 5 years of industry experience developing machine learning models with business impact - more experience preferred
* B.S., M.S., or PhD. in Statistics, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Economics, or another quantitative field
* Deep understanding of statistics / machine learning
* Demonstrated programming abilities in Python

Desired Skills:

* Experience solving customer problems using machine learning
* Strong verbal and written communication
* Impressive portfolio or Kaggle profile
* Deep understanding of cutting edge machine learning principles and techniques (CNN, learning rates, fast.ai, DL based NLP)
* Expertise with Python and machine learning libraries (Numpy, Tensorflow)
* Effective analytical presentation skills using living Jupyter notebooks and static presentation formats
* Efficient database modeling techniques and SQL experience
