About the Organization

The International Technology organization owns the discovery and delivery of Amazon's cutting-edge engineering to customers across the world. We do this through partnerships with technical and business teams across Amazon.

About your team - Data Services

We are building a Data Services team to understand and improve the customer experience and performance (acquisition, engagement, attrition, revenue etc.) of our new and upcoming international businesses. As an SDE in the data services team, you will be responsible for the technical architecture of our systems and our big data strategy to acquire, process and store data at scale. You will provide thought leadership, mentoring and architectural guidance across all the software systems and teams within the larger International Technology organization. You will have significant influence over the experience that we offer our customers globally. You will build systems that will inform and influence our international expansion strategy by leveraging data and enable innovation at a faster pace.

You are passionate about drawing insights from data and guiding leadership and partner teams in deciding where they should invest. You challenge yourself and others to constantly come up with better solutions. This highly visible role requires frequent communication with senior leadership in order to help shape and deliver on the product roadmap, and requires you to nimbly switch between strategic and tactical initiatives to achieve technical, business, and customer experience goals. You'll be given the unique opportunity to own and drive initiatives across the Amazon Retail as a whole -- from algorithmic innovation, all the way down to the datasets that the back-end services consume.

You also have a pragmatic approach and iterative approach to building software: you have an ability to simplify and get things done with a demonstrated track record of building and delivering software and working effectively with external and internal teams.
