What you'll be doing...

The Tokenization Gateway team at Verizon is looking for a Senior Software Developer for the Corporate Systems Group organization. This position is responsible for developing, and deploying data tokenization services and interfaces for highly sensitive SPI and PCI data owned by Verizon customers and business partners.

This position provides design, development and oversight to the delivery of data tokenization projects. This position has responsibility for multiple strategic projects simultaneously, and for the proper delivery of those solutions according to application, Security, and Audit standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities of the position include

* The successful candidate will be involved in the development, testing, implementation and day to day operations for Tokenization Gateway in order to safeguard data and prevent possible data breaches. This role requires the candidate to have excellent communication skills in order to facilitate and drive discussions with major business partners on new interfaces, and the migration of older interfaces to more secure solutions.
* The candidate will work across multiple applications and multiples lines of business to define and drive manageable implementations on a well-defined schedule. This role will require extensive partnering and negotiating with IT teams across Verizon, as well as a variety of stakeholder groups across VZ including Security, Network Engineering, Finance and Retail.
* The position requires that the candidate be able to work in a full-stack (design/development through production implementation) team following an Agile software development lifecycle model. The successful candidate will need to have expertise in project and time management, and subject matter expertise in setting up and maintaining connections between internal applications as well as with external business partners through firewalls and network connections. Additional responsibilities will be to define and ensure implementation of processes to validate and monitor processes against defined SLAs, and create alerts when those SLAs are not met.
* Act as change agent to foster a high quality culture throughout the organization and drive measurable business process improvements.
* Define and enforce the monitoring of key metrics and system heath and quickly identifying and resolving problems.
* Participate in strategy and design discussions to provide strategic over tactical solutions to provide long term Verizon benefits for data security.
* Work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the organization to determine the best manner in which to secure data, and establish quality control metrics including management level reporting.
* Generate ideas and solutions as well as designs and operationalize solutions for other's ideas.
* Responsible for the successful completion of assigned projects on time and within budget.
* Providing guidance to teams on technical and architecture issues to drive data security in the most efficient manner.

You'll need to have:

* Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
* Four or more years of relevant work experience.
* Experience with the Java programming language.
* Experience working with Linux systems.

Even better if you have:

* Bachelor's degree.
* Experience identifying, requesting and validating secure firewall connections between systems
* Experience establishing and maintaining data transmission connections between systems
* Experience working with MariaDB as a database solution
* Knowledge of data security and the risks associated with data leaks and data breaches
* Experience working with Splunk for transaction logging and reporting
* Experience working with Amazon Web Service environments
* Experience creating technical design documents
* Project Management and Agile Lifecycle Development experience.
* Strong experience in creating PowerPoint and Visio documents for presentation purposes
* Ability at engaging and influencing large teams and functional leaders.
* Ability to work independently, efficiently and effectively under extreme time constraints and deliver results.
* Business application support experience.
* Ability to present designs and the associated technical and business justifications to executive management in a clear and concise manner.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyze and research how systems interact
* Strong ability to anticipate and prepare for upcoming situations, taking advantage of opportunities, acting quickly and decisively, and addressing issues before they become problems.
* Monitoring key metrics and system heath and quickly identifying and resolving problems.
* Strong communication skills
* Strong negotiation skills
