MITRE has a need for a full-time sensor systems engineer with experience in underwater acoustics and SONAR systems to work in the Sensor Systems & Battle Management, Command and Control (BMC2) department.
B.S Degree in math, physics, engineering, or related disciplines.
Preferred Requirements:
M.S. in math, physics, engineering, or related disciplines or Ph.D in underwater acoustics, ocean engineering, or related field.
Experience or background in the following areas:
* Sonar or radar signal processing, detection and estimation theory, adaptive signal processing, ocean-acoustic wave propagation, numerical methods, experimental data analysis, communication systems
* Experience using analytical software tools such as MATLAB for modeling, simulation, and analysis of physical systems
* Proactive self-starter with strong analytical, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Experience with acoustical/SONAR signal processing, algorithm development, propagation modeling, and acoustic communications
* Experience working with SONAR systems and conducting field experiments
* Operational NAVY experience a plus
* Experience leading cross-domain technical teams
* Experience managing R&D projects
