What you'll be doing...

You will design, develop, and integrate core security infrastructure and features, in such areas as key management, secure networking, and data protection and integrity, across a product line that targets cloud computing and distributed systems. Your efforts will directly benefit all our customers: businesses who rely on Tableau to analyze large datasets securely, as well as individuals who are passionate about data, and bring interactive data visualizations to life on the public Internet.

Tableau's products primarily leverage Java and C++. As a Security Features developer, you will ship code across all product lines, spearheading critical hardening initiatives that enhance our products' security posture. Your products will serve both internal and external customers, and you will collaborate closely with, and deliver products that delight your customers. You will mentor junior engineers and help set high standards for secure software development. Both your development methodology and the actual design and implementation will be reference-quality for other teams. You will be supported by a highly collaborative environment, full of talented professionals who are passionate and dedicated to helping people "see and understand their data".

Who you are…

* Experienced. You have 7+ years of experience coding and solving complex problems, preferably with highly-scalable distributed systems. You understand what it takes to write software that is used by thousands or millions of people.
* Relentlessly High Standards. You believe in automation and writing tests for your own code as a way of maintaining high quality in your products. You love writing things that "just work" - things that are robust, scalable, and that perform well.
* A True Team Player. You enjoy collaborating, learning from or teaching others so we can all become better developers.
* Technically Savvy. You have solid development skills with Java and ideally some experience with C++.
