Position Summary:

Sony Corporation of America (SCA), is seeking a motivated Senior Security Engineer to join the Global Information Security Department. We're currently looking for smart, enthusiastic people who want to help us continue to secure Sony's ecosystem. This position will be a part of the team responsible for establishing a unified enterprise security architecture, key security controls and models, while being subject matter experts for various security areas to ensure our security practices and controls constantly improve. The Senior Security Engineer will have a good balance of business and technical knowledge and will be comfortable across many disciplines of Information Technology and demonstrate a strong passion for Information Security.

Position Responsibilities

* Work closely with Sony Group Companies to find creative, composable security solutions that balance business requirements with cyber security needs to improve Sony's overall security posture
* Evaluate and standardize security of projects within cloud environments to enable our businesses to securely deliver of "Kando" to customers
* Perform design and implementation security reviews of IaaS/ PaaS and SaaS projects and articulate security risks and recommendations
* Keep on top of cloud provider new features, advisories, alerts, trends and best practices
* Exercise risk-based judgment to comprehend requirements, translate technical standards and advise security and IT teams in making calculated defensible and repeatable security risk-based decisions
* Liaise technical insight and impacts of security standards, capabilities and reference architecture to Sony group companies
* Articulate the relationship between security capability and technology selection, Information Systems strategy, security investment decisions, and capability effectiveness evaluation.
* Develop, mature and maintain security architecture strategy, principles, models, standards, guidelines, and configurations
* Research, model and track secure system standards, industry trends, market technology, threat group threats, tactics and procedures for ecosystem applicability and reference
* Demonstrate the maturity of the global cyber security technology stack (metrics, health checks, tech debt, effectiveness etc.
* Act as an ambassador for security and be proactive within security communities

Qualifications:

* Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
* Technical certifications or other demonstrations of passion in security and technology (e.g., CISSP, AWS Associate, open source projects, or equivalent) is preferred
* 5+ years' experience in technology or information security related fields
* 2+ years' experience working with Cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
* Passion for cyber security technologies
* Strong demonstrated knowledge of web protocols and an in-depth knowledge of Windows, Linux and/or Unix tools and architecture
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills including the ability to articulate to both technical and non-technical audiences
* Experience in Cloud platform security; securing business transition from on premise IT to cloud based IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions
* Experience in Corporate, network and infrastructure security; protecting the endpoints, systems, pathways, and services that we use to "fill the world with emotion"
* Experience in Email Security; finding efficient ways to ensure email communications to and from Sony are valued, reliable and trusted
* Experience in Identity Protection; securing the use of existing and transition to modern authentication methods for employees, and customers
* Experience in Data Protection; articulating effective encryption methods to protect intellectual property, and customer data
* Experience with Hashicorp technologies such as Terraform
* Ability to travel internationally as needed
