Job Description

Interested in AWS? If you're excited by security at massive scope, cloud computing, significant customer impact, big data, and securing scalable systems, we want to talk to you! We are looking for an experienced security engineer to join the AWS CloudFormation team.

AWS CloudFormation provides an easy declarative way to create, deploy and manage applications and infrastructure in the AWS cloud. It simplifies provisioning and management on AWS. You can create templates for the service or application architectures you want and have AWS CloudFormation use those templates for quick and reliable provisioning of the services or applications (called "stacks"). You can also easily update or replicate the stacks as needed. Many of our customers use CloudFormation to control all of the resources in their AWS environments so that they can succinctly capture changes, perform version control, and manage costs in their infrastructure, among other activities.

The Role:

AWS CloudFormation is looking for expert Security Engineer to ensure that our applications are designed and implemented to the highest standards thus maintaining and enhancing customer trust. If you enjoy analyzing devices, applications, and services from a security perspective, and you are skilled at identifying vulnerabilities, this position will provide you with a challenging and rewarding opportunity. You will participate in the secure design of new features and products, vulnerability analysis of applications and devices, work with developers to resolve security issues, and build tools for security automation.

Responsibilities:

* Analyze security issues related to web services and provide recommendations for mitigations
* Identify vulnerabilities on devices, provide mitigations, and validate proper resolution
* Collaborate with product teams to develop new features with an eye on security
* Assist in vulnerability analysis and incident response
* Perform security reviews
* Evaluate and recommend new security tooling and technologies
* Develop technologies for automated vulnerability detection
* Participate in security operations support
* Develop and interpret security policies and procedures
* Develop and deliver general security awareness training

A successful candidate will have experience working through ambiguity, helping to define security requirements with managers and engineers and incorporating customer feedback, as well as identifying potential problems before they become real problems. Join the team and have a chance to build a service at AWS scale.
