Summary:

As a Senior Requirements Engineer on the Operations Software Team at Dexcom, you will analyze systems requirement, help design and validate desktop, web, and manufacturing equipment software supporting Dexcom's FDA-regulated manufacturing processes.

Functional Description: Technical Individual Contributor

Designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for enhancements and new products. Develops software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, cloud-based and Internet-related tools. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design.

Functional/Business Knowledge:

Possesses broad understanding of technical principles and theories. Ability to synthesize external data and research findings for application that may impact technical objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Serve as a liaison between the internal customers (the process engineers, mechanical engineers and hardware system engineers) and the equipment software development team or external software development vendors.
* Lead the requirements analysis process with the internal customers and subject matter experts.
* Document requirements using the right level of detail for the engineering and external software development vendors.
* Provide software development guidance to the external vendors during the equipment software development process.
* Lead design review and change control meetings.
* Act as QA resource when needed to create test plans, test scenarios, and test cases and perform user acceptance test.
* Create and monitor feature and bug cases in the case management system.
* Create diagrams that illustrate current and future workflows.
* Work with manufacturing engineering support team to write software support documentation as needed.
* Understand medical device waterfall software development process and participate in efforts to improve software development life cycle processes.
* Provide support for deployed systems
* Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications/Education:

* Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 5-8 years related experience or Master's degree and 2-5 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 0-2 years experience.
* Experience working as requirement or quality engineer for product manufacturing software
* Experience developing or validating software for product manufacturing cells and stations

Preferred Qualifications:

* Quick learner, adjust easily to a dynamic, ever-changing environment
* Ability to read and understand source code written in Labview or C#
* Experience in FDA regulated software development
* Experience integrating measurement instruments and DAQ systems
* Experience in using document, task, defect, requirement and test case management systems such as Oracle Agile PLM, Jira, Jama, Confluence, etc.

Language Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
