Job Description

Insurance Auto Auctions is searching for Senior QA Analyst to join the team at our corporate headquarters in Westchester, IL.

Founded in 1982 and a subsidiary of KAR Auction Services, Insurance Auto Auctions is one of the leading North American salvage auto auctions, and is on InformationWeek's Elite 100 list of the country's top business technology innovators. IAA specializes in providing insurance companies, car rental companies and other vehicle providers with a number of specialized services surrounding the liquidation of total-loss vehicles acquired through the settlement of claims. Through their web based, comprehensive salvage-management tool, they provide a host of electronic management tools that connect their vehicle providers to the auction process via the Internet. IAA's facilities and specialized processes help insurance companies mitigate claims expense and reduce claims cycle time. IAA currently has over 170 sites across North America.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

* Assess and decompose requirements for the purpose of creating test cases.
* Develop clear and easy to follow test cases for the purpose of measuring software quality and compliance to business requirements and application design.
* Properly document testing issues to aid others in the quick and efficient remediation of the issue.
* Create and manage test data as needed.
* Create and maintain automation scripts leveraging TOSCA or equivalent automation tool.
* Execute regression test suite, keep it current with new functionality, and remove redundant testing.
* Serve as the point of contact for a testing initiative in the absence of a Team Lead.
* Collect and report testing status to the team leadership as necessary.
* Support user acceptance testing as necessary.
* Lead peer reviews of test cases.
* Support the establishment and maintenance of a test case repository.
* Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) by developing deep application and business knowledge.
* Mentor and coach junior staff by conducting team based training (lunch and learn sessions) in QA or business related topics.
* Perform in a professional courteous manner at all times.
* Uphold and contribute to testing best practices as defined by the QA Leadership

Qualifications/Desirables

* Strong understanding of quality principles, practices and structured testing methodology. Experience conducting testing within different development methodologies specifically Agile.
* Has an automate-first mentality in regards to test cases.
* Solid experience with Test Management Tools and Issue Tracking Tools (e.g. MS VSTS/Test Manager, etc.).
* Experience writing and executing SQL scripts for the purpose of locating, creating or manipulating test data.
* Proven ability to write and execute detailed test scripts.
* Familiarity with API testing (SOAP and/or REST).
* Ability to interface effectively with project managers, project team, technical staff, business owners and business users in both a team environment and independently.
* Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with the project team, other application teams and clients is required.
* Possess a high-energy level, a strong sense of urgency, be self-motivated and work extremely well under pressure.
* Strong organization, time management skills and attention to detail.
* Dedication to enhance knowledge and skills through research and experimentation, in-house and external classes.
* Solid experience with Microsoft personal productivity tools (Excel, Word).
* Understanding of finance and accounting concepts
