Job Description

Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc. has a contingent opportunity available for three full-time Senior Analysts to support the Department of Defense (DoD) with Countering small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-sUAS). The successful applicant's main duties will include providing executive-level support to assist the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment in the following areas: acquisition and program management support, congressional support, organizational planning, and force protection. This person must be able to think creatively and challenge conventional thinking over a wide variety of government related projects focusing on better ways to leverage related efforts across Department of Defense (DoD) programs to meet objectives for greater integration and interoperability. This requires someone who has a strong and substantial background and proven history in supporting senior-level DoD officials and advising on strategy, policy, implementation and execution of C-sUAS programs in a cross-functional, Interagency setting.

Primary Responsibilities & Functions:

* Contribute to and assist senior government officials within the DoD and Interagency develop strategies to counter the small Unmanned Aircraft System threat
* Assist government officials review, evaluate and identify "best-of-breed" solutions to C-sUAS
* Must be able to conduct detailed investigative research, data collection and summarize for senior government officials' use
* Take initiative to advance program, projects and build approaches to meeting objectives with only minimal direction
* Work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple projects with evolving requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Must hold an Active DoD Top Secret security clearance and eligible for Sensitive Compartmentalized Information

* Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent with ten to twelve years of Program/Project Management or related experience
* Proven track record with DoD acquisition, systems engineering and program management support across multiple programs and portfolios
* Experience and understanding of sensing modalities, interoperability, and systems engineering
* Expertise in DoD roles and missions, and organizational structure
* Experience in providing support in identifying opportunities for cross-Service and inter-Department C-sUAS interoperability and synergies
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
* Innovative and fresh thinking with a 'can do' attitude
* Ability to manage and prioritize numerous concurrent assignments
* Organized individual, with prioritization and time management skills
* Applicant must be a U.S. citizen

* Professional certification: Physical Security Professional
* Professional Engineer
