Amazon Lumberyard is a free AAA game engine deeply integrated with AWS and Twitch - with full source. The Lumberyard team aspires to help game developers create the highest quality games, engage massive communities of fans, and connect their games to the vast compute and storage of the cloud.

As a Programmer Writer for Lumberyard, you will have the exciting opportunity to work with a stellar technical team to produce product documentation and code examples in a cross-functional, distributed environment.

We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running, and work collaboratively to produce great documentation that simplifies, explains, and empowers users to get the most from the Lumberyard product.

As a Programmer Writer, you will play a crucial role in helping our customers get up and running quickly, providing them with technical information they need to build amazing games.

Ideal candidates have a technical background and a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality technical content.

Responsibilities

* Write, edit, and maintain technical documentation and code examples for game developers
* Plan, schedule, and deliver technical documentation to support software releases
* Review, edit, proofread, and test content for quality assurance and mentoring
* Collaborate with subject matter experts
* Drive documentation planning with engineering teams
* Independently follow documentation designs and standards
* Help define writing projects
* Use data to improve the customer documentation experience
* Participate in sprint activities
* Identify and meet customer needs for technical documentation
* Own the quality of the documentation experience for assigned product areas
* Develop in-depth knowledge of your domain, and share it with colleagues and customers
* Collaborate with development, support, and QA engineers to plan and improve the documentation experience
* Help shape the products by suggesting improvements to new features and workflows
* Help provide developer-friendly API documentation
