Job Description

The Program Manager, Principal - Change Management will support the HR/IC organization to ensure that Blue Shield is able to capture and plan for all the people implications of various initiatives on the Promise employee base, while keeping the employee experience at the center. The scope of work spans across three key initiatives (Business Integration, Procurement, and Real Estate) and four pillars (Employee Engagement, People Change Management, Communications, Organizational Design)

Primary Responsibilities:

* Project Scoping (10%):
* Meet with key stakeholders (including project sponsors, pillar leads, initiative leads) to understand overall Strategic Architecture objectives as well as goals of individual teams, and how they flow into overall objectives


* Translate and consolidate information and goals into integrated, coordinated workstreams with clear objectives, timelines, metrics, and owners


* Communicate roles, responsibilities, and governance of workstreams to owners




* Project Management and Coordination (50%):
* Translate all workstreams into detailed project plan and timeline


* Manage to plan and track progress, including:
* Providing content development support and feedback (e.g., meeting materials, logistics)


* Facilitating executive meetings and working sessions


* Escalating risks and issues to sponsors as needed




* Develop agendas, coordinate meeting content and facilitate meetings for People Integration Team Meetings.




* Thought Leadership (15%):
* Serve as a thought leader and partner to VP HR and entire Strategic Architecture team to develop creative solutions and make informed decisions


* Provide industry best practices and perspectives on strategic project management tools and templates, post-merger integration, and employee engagement




* Reporting (15%):
* Provide documentation support for update meetings (e.g., Weekly People Integration Team Meetings)


* Complete and submit regular updates to governing bodies such as SIO, Exec Sponsors, Operating Committee




* Miscellaneous (10%):
* Serve as point person/ "catch-all" for all Integration/ Procurement related activities that have implications on Promise employees


* Answer questions such as:
* Who is the right SME to answer my question?


* What is the right process (or can we create a process) to get this approved/ validated?


* What is the best time to send out these communications?






* Strong project management skills, including ability to manage large, collaborative teams


* Deep understanding of associated change management, communications, employee engagement, and org design needs


* Cultural competence and ability to understand and leverage the diversity of different cultures, behaviors, and norms


* Strategic, critical thinking and ability to "connect the dots" between activities occurring across different workstreams and the enterprise


* Familiarity with HR life cycle and operations


* Thorough understanding and affinity to using tools, templates, playbooks, and other industry best practices, as well as ability to customize as needed to suit business needs


* Proficiency in using productivity, collaboration, and presentation tools (e.g., WebEx, PowerPoint) to manage progress and create presentations


* Strong internal client facing skills with a flexible communication style and the ability to communicate complex concepts and analytics in a structured manner


* Experience with post-merger integrations and strategic planning in the health services industry


* Highly effective at getting to root cause of issues and providing innovative solutions


* Ability to learn quickly, make quick decisions, and be flexible/pivot as needed
