The Highlights

The Senior Product Development Manager, Data and IP Networking will provide product and technical leadership within the product organization.

In this role, you will be a product advocate with engineering, operations and customer experience teams on enterprise data and IP product development programs, specifically, as well as technology direction generally.

To be successful in this role, you must possess both a strong understanding of business/product requirements and industry-leading network architectures. You will collaborate with delivery and customer experience organizations on developing and implementing network and product/service enhancements and make recommendations for improvements. You will also partner with different engineering, operations, planning, design and customer experience teams to ensure that our service offerings comply with the latest industry standards and meet customer expectations as a seasoned product development leader with extensive experience with data communications, you will possess a strong understanding of layer 1, 2 and 3 network technologies for both wireline and wireless delivery and associated enterprise service offerings, as well as strong leadership, communication and management skills.

Ideally you need to have experience and good understanding of one or more of the following technology fields:

* High speed Ethernet & Internet services including Access e.g. 10G/100G
* Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing & switching
* SD-WAN technology and services
* SDN & Virtual Network Function technology based Virtual Services
* Virtual Security services

What you will do

* Actively and consistently support all efforts to augment existing product portfolio to enhance the client experience and drive product performance
* Build new and innovative enterprise services that are differentiated from the competition
* Drive execution of product development road map in partnership with cross-functional groups across engineering, IT, operations and customer experience
* Follow product development methodology to achieve innovation, rapid prototyping and development/launch of product functionality across multiple product families including both wireline and wireless services/solutions
* Develop detailed requirements that provide guidance to the cross-functional teams involved in developing product functionality, e.g., OSS/BSS support teams
* Collaborate with innovation teams both inside and outside the company to build proof-of-concept and/or technology trials
* Research new technologies for possible inclusion in solutions
* Demonstrate a high level of competence in LAN/WAN technologies, routing and switching platforms, troubleshooting critical issues and coordinating implementation
* Experience with wireline and wireless technologies and services and associated Service Assurance components such as performance monitoring and security features
* Mentor and train other product personnel in key elements of networking systems and provide technical presentations to instruct coworkers and other support individuals
* Represent the product organization, working closely with architects and engineers in designing, modeling and implementing new technologies
* Carry out other duties as needed

Required keys for success

* Seven or more years of product development, engineering and/or operations
* Five or more years of cable, telecommunications, software and/or online services
* Extensive experience with IP networking technologies including routing, addressing, filtering, load balancing and peering
* Experience in product development, engineering and/or operations
* Advanced knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI model
* Advanced knowledge of related industry specifications and standards: IEEE, ANSI, bridging, switching, routing, Ethernet and transport technologies and protocols
* Strong understanding of different layer 1, 2 and 3 network service architectures, including network capacity planning/modeling
* Capacity to lead architectural direction by working across IT, engineering and operations teams
* Ability to understand complex and technical concepts and translate them into simplified product attributes
* Aptitude to understand and grow technical knowledge in area of telecommunications services
* Ability to analyze and interpret data and synthesize recommendations
* Ability to serve as a visionary and think strategically
* Ability to lead large, cross-functional teams to achieve business goals and results
* Ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively and independently
