Job Description

The Senior Privacy Analyst (SR Analyst) is a member of the Privacy Investigation Team (PI Team). The PI Team plays a significant role in the privacy program by conducting proactive auditing and monitoring (A&M) of Electronic Health Record (EHR) applications. Additionally, the PI Team monitors, reviews and remediates Data Loss Prevention (DLP) incidents. The PI Team conducts physical audits and provides investigatory support for the Privacy and Information Security Department (Dept). The PI Team assists with special projects and participates in work groups.

The SR Analyst will assist in the management of the privacy incident response process. This position ensures timely reporting to patients and government entities as required by law. The SR Analyst will assist in responding to government and regulatory inquiries as necessary.

The SR Analyst will work with the Chief Privacy and Information Security Officer, Privacy and Information Security Leaders and Officers, Privacy Investigation Manager, and other team members to assure compliance with federal and state privacy regulations including HIPAA, HITECH, CMIA, state privacy laws, and Sutter Health's privacy policies.

Bachelor's degree in health information management, project planning, healthcare informatics, computer science or forensics required.

6-8 years work experience in privacy, compliance, auditing or healthcare field.

Experience auditing and monitoring and performing forensic investigations.

Experience in healthcare company with knowledge of existing and emerging federal and state requirements related to privacy and security of health information.

Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to manage projects.

Strong interpersonal skills and navigates political situations quietly and effectively.

Ability to set priorities and to respond to changing demands from multiple sources in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to meet deadlines, anticipate requirements and build relationships.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to exercise good judgment and utilize basic reasoning skills.

Possess a high level of integrity and professionalism to properly handle sensitive situations and confidential information.

Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision.
