Texas Mutual, one of the best companies to work for in Texas, is looking for a best-in-class Sr. Network Engineer to help deploy, scale and automate our network. We are looking for an engineer to maintain quality and reliability while developing innovative ways to automate our network infrastructure. Responsibilities & Qualifications This Role: Create and update standards to include modern technical concepts like intent-based and software defined networking and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards Ensure network documentation is created, maintained and updated as appropriate Work closely with appropriate teams to efficiently and creatively troubleshoot and resolve network related issues Work closely with appropriate teams to design, implement, automate, administer and optimize network functions and management in order to provide fast, highly available, value add services Utilize various tools for capacity planning, monitoring network health, performance testing and analysis and verify reliability and integrity and make these statistics highly visible to the company Plan and execute changes to network infrastructure in high-availability production environments with extensive security/compliance and change management requirements Using automation tools, coding and templates create simple, repetitive processes that increase velocity, stability and quality of network deployments Readily pilot technologies and products for potential use in business value streams Design and implementation of disaster recovery plans and disaster recovery quality assurance tests for the network infrastructure to ensure business continuity Required Qualifications: 10 years of similar or related experience CCNP, JCNIP or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience required Expert conceptual knowledge with access control models and network security Strong expertise at network documentation, IPAM, Visio In-depth knowledge/understanding of Cisco switches, Aruba wireless products, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, NAC, SNMP, QoS, CoS, VLANs, ACLs, HSRP, TACACS+, RADIUS, VoIP, DHCP, DNS, Multicast, 802.1x, OSPF, OSI and TCP/IP models Knowledge of SDN and associated technologies as well as management of NFV, SD-WAN Proficient in automation, orchestration and scripting tools like Python, Perl, Ruby, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Jenkins and Linux Experience with orchestration to scale the network as needed, and provision code across multiple devices as well as automation of management tasks Experience with integration using API's and infrastructure as code Experience with policy-driven approach to network automation Excellent knowledge of troubleshooting practices and techniques Experience with network virtualization, cloud, and network management platform tools Our Benefits: Relocation assistance Day 1 health, dental and vision insurance Performance bonus 401k plan with generous match Vacation, sick, and volunteer time off Life and disability insurance Flexible spending account On-site gym Professional development Tuition reimbursement Pet insurance Identity theft protection Company-sponsored social, wellness, and philanthropy events Texas Mutual Insurance Company is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
