Job Profile Summary As a senior microservices developer you will work to build cloud microservices that bring voice experiences into our smart home speaker and soundbar products. Designing and developing web services and REST APIs that enable customer voice experiences across our devices, mobile applications, and cloud voice personal assistant partners. The successful candidate will have deep development experience in cloud microservices, and have built robust, highly scalable, high-performance distributed systems that connect cloud microservices with mobile, web, and smart devices to offer consumers a wide range of functionality that can grow with time. Responsibilities include: Design and build highly scalable, resilient, performant cloud microservices and APIs that interface with devices, mobile applications, third-party services and applications, cloud infrastructure, and other microservices Collaborate with user experience and mobile app teams to develop product features and services Work with QA on developing testing processes, frameworks, and automation strategies Work with platform architects on software and system optimizations, helping to identify and remove potential performance bottlenecks Document the work you do, especially APIs that you create Serve on scheduled on-call rotations for voice cloud services Focus on innovating new and better ways to create solutions that add value and amaze the end user, with a penchant for simple elegant design in every aspect from data structures to code to systems architecture Stay up to date on relevant technologies, plug into user groups, understand trends and opportunities to ensure we are using the best techniques and tools Qualifications: B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent; advanced degree a plus 5+ years' experience developing back-end cloud applications 2+ years' experience developing microservices for very large-scale, real-time distributed systems (millions of users with thousands of concurrent accesses) Experience developing microservices on AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platforms Experience with cloud-based distributed application scaling & data processing Experience using and developing REST APIs, using tools such as Swagger / OpenAPI Proficient in Python, Go, and/or Java Deep practice with Agile software development methodology Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and presentation skills Strong sense of ownership, passionate, fast learner, detail-oriented, analytical mindset, perfection seeker Experience with single sign-on, social login, session management, user profiles, and user identity and authentication frameworks such as OAuth a strong plus Experience with HTTP & JSON Working knowledge of NoSQL database systems such as Redis a plus Experience with Apigee or AWS API Gateway a plus Experience with network protocols and IoT plus Bose is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
