As a Senior Medical Planner on the Perkins+Will team, you will:

* Understand planning, programming, design principles and generate design ideas
* Understand the firms' design philosophies and current trends throughout the profession.
* Prepares alternate design solutions for consideration based on client's long-range plan during the master planning and conceptual phases.
* Leads members of the planning team in the initial design phase and is responsible for all functional and programmatic aspects of the proposed solutions.
* Design in accordance with applicable codes and ordinances.
* Generate and supervise design presentations to end users, c-suite, or hospital boards.
* Direct the production of schematic and design development documents.
* Works closely with the members of the healthcare group to design a project that meets the firm's commitment to design, quality, schedules and client needs, financial budget, and timetable.
* Supervise the review of design documents for compliance with program and design concepts.
* Understand the firm's philosophy and commitment to sustainable design; Sustainability is an essential part of everything we do; design solutions that contribute to human well-being while enhancing the future of our planet.
* Facilitates the goals and objectives of the client through a clear programming and scheduling process.
* Leads the development of an architectural program for clients.
* Keep current with evolving building technology and systems.
* Understand engineering systems, coordinate engineers and other consultants.
* Provides room and departmental layouts and assists in the selection of building systems.
* Works with the client in preparation of information for the "Certificate of Need" application.
* Assists in the evaluation of existing facilities.
* Understand contractual responsibilities, i.e. scope, schedule and cost.
* Identify out-of-scope services and assist in obtaining the Owner's authorization.
* Provides leadership in order to carry out the goals and objectives of the project and communicates with team members in a timely manner.
* Maintain contact with clients, consultants, contractors and others during all phases of the project.
* Participates in marketing proposals and interviews.
* Respond to demands of peak periods without loss of quality, thoroughness and accuracy.
* Adjust to changes in assignments, conditions, techniques and priorities.

To join us, you should have:

* Professional degree in architecture, license, LEED AP within 6 months of hire required.
* Minimum 8 years of architectural experience in healthcare facilities planning. Primary emphasis on healthcare master planning, conceptual design and proven front-end client interface. Solid understanding of healthcare project delivery.
* Ability to manage complex health care projects (team, financials, clients) with minimal supervision.
