Senior Manager Solutions Architect

As a Solutions Architect for Commercial Bank Technology, you will be solving impactful technical problems. These technical problems are the utmost importance and affect multiple areas in the business. These are critical decisions that will be difficult to change at a later point so we want to make sure we are putting our best foot forward. You will be responsible for a line of business or shared capability in the Commercial Bank. You will bring in a larger context to the teams and guide their architecture evolution in response to business changes.

Commercial Bank has a myriad of complex products for our clients, and we build solutions for them as well as our associates that support them. We are well along on our journey to get out of data centers and COTS products to cloud-native, real-time, ML-enabled greenfield apps. This is a great opportunity to influence hundreds of our applications that are on this journey.

We have a polyglot landscape and rely heavily on Open Source Software, building with Go, TypeScript, Python, Java, .NET Core, React and Angular; we use Kafka, NATS, Restful APIs, Kubernetes, and run all of it on the public cloud, taking advantage of its managed services.

Who You Are:

This position requires a wide breadth of knowledge (from CICD to Observability, from Security to Cloud infrastructure, from microservices to document databases). You need to be able to form a vision, back it up with your own lessons learned and technical expertise, communicate it well using many techniques at your disposal, succeed in influencing the teams and their leadership, and finally prove out architecture by working alongside the teams. In addition, deep expertise in at least one technical domain (e.g. data, low latency, integration). requires deep knowledge of at least one language ecosystem

In addition, we will rely on your thought leadership and evangelism to help the Commercial Bank keep an eye out for new tech as well as implement best engineering practices.

You need to be proactive, hands-on, and constructive. Some regional travel required. While this an onsite position, it may have some remote flexibility.

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or Military Experience


* At least 8 years' experience in software engineering


* At least 3 years' experience in systems architecture


* At least 2 years' experience building applications in the public cloud (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud)


* At least 2 years' experience in application development



Preferred Qualifications

* 4+ years' experience in at least one public cloud infrastructure at expert level


* 2+ years' experience in Java, Go, Python, Scala, and C#


* 1+ years' experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, or Angular


* 2+ years' experience in Regulatory, Financial industry or Global Technology Company experience


* 2+ years' Experience in designing and building large systems (many teams, services, capabilities, technologies)


* 1+ years' experience working with small cross-functional agile teams that include Product and Design


* 1+ years' experience building cloud-native applications


* 1+ years' experience with Design/Architecture toolbox (e.g. ATAM, DDD)


* Breadth of knowledge (from CICD to Observability, from Security to Cloud infrastructure, from microservices to document databases)


* Deep expertise in at least one technical domain (e.g. data, low latency, integration)


* Deep knowledge of at least one language ecosystem
