As the Senior Manager of Data Engineering, you should be an expert with data warehousing technical components (e.g. Data Modeling, ETL and Reporting), infrastructure (e.g. hardware and software) and their integration. You should have deep understanding of the architecture for enterprise level data warehouse solutions using multiple platforms (RDBMS, Columnar, Cloud). You should be an expert in the design, creation, management, and business use of extremely large and complex datasets. You should have excellent business and communication skills to be able to work with business owners to architect solutions that solve enterprise-wide problems. You should be hardworking about learning new technologies and be able to implement solutions using them to provide new functionality to the users, scale the existing platform, and help drive our migration to the cloud. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required as the person will work very closely with diverse teams and senior leadership.

In this role, you will be part of a team to build the new analytics environment that will power GoDaddy's business to help our customers succeed in theirs.

Responsibilities

* Recruit, run, and retain a team of hardworking engineers located globally.
* Influence peer teams and leadership to ensure our data culture is one where engineers proudly do their best work every single day.
* Raise the bar for technical excellence as we move our data ecosystem into the cloud.
* Conduct design and code review to ensure compliance with standards and expected quality.
* Build the Data Playbook for evaluating and integrating new data sources from Mergers & Acquisitions into our analytical ecosystem.
* Lead our Data Governance program to improve Data Literacy across the Enterprise.
* Interface across our Business Analysis and Data Science teams, understanding their common data problems and delivering scalable solutions.

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in CS or related technical field is required
* 8+ years in data architecture and business intelligence.
* 3+ years developing big data solutions.
* 5+ years leading engineers.
* In-depth knowledge of optimizing distributed computing systems.
* Expert in data modeling, metadata management, and data quality.
* Strong interpersonal and multitasking skills with ability to balance contending priorities.
* Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
* An ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is occurring and ambiguity is the norm.

Preferred Qualifications

* Delivered end-to-end analytic solutions using AWS services (S3, Athena, Kinesis, Redshift, Glue).
* Proficient in programming in Python, Scala, and Java.
* Experience migrating from an on-prem to cloud data platform.
