Title: Senior Java Application Development Engineer

Description:

Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Software, this position is responsible for designing and implementing the state-of-art video quality assurance platform covering the adaptive bitrate streaming networks as well as traditional linear broadcast networks. This role also provides opportunity to participate in the design and development of next generation architecture for IQ product suite to create a highly scalable, elastic and high performing monitoring solution that combines real time dashboards and historical trends.

Responsibilities:

* Participate in the design and development of high performing, scalable and reliable video assurance platform
* Build server-side and client-side functionality to perform real time data processing at scale and present in a user-friendly GUI
* Collaborate with other enterprise software engineers to help design and implement next generation architecture
* Work in an Agile team with continuous communication with the SCRUM team
* Work with product management to define the requirements in to epics and stories and prepare technical design documents to accomplish them
* Mentor junior engineers, inspire them to collaborate and innovate on delivering reliable and scalable applications to our customers

Qualifications:

* Bachelors or Master of Science, in Computer Science or other IT-related major with at least 5 years of development experience
* 4+ years hands-on experience developing enterprise applications in Java/J2EE
* Sound knowledge of building multi-tier applications using J2EE technologies
* Good experience in J2EE frameworks (Spring/JBoss/Wildfly), Javascript frameworks (Angular/React/ExtJS), HTML5
* Good experience in databases (MySQL) and ORM libraries (Hibernate)
* Knowledge in NoSQL platforms like Cassandra, Hadoop, MongoDB etc. with distributed server technologies like Apache Spark, Storm, Kafka etc. is a major plus.
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills; excellent communication skills
