Job Description:

This position provides Linux leadership for our 24 x 7 x 365 production operations, managing all aspects of the operations, which includes monitoring, resolution, administration, and engineering of a large-scale production environment. Your leadership within the team will demonstrate business and technical knowledge, mentoring, and training for Linux systems and application administration to help us ensure the health, uptime, and performance of our Linux services.

You will be responsible for driving standardization as well as improving and maintaining our Production infrastructure environment. You will focus on continuously improving the speed and efficiency of the environment and systems required to support it. This position will work closely with our architects and engineers to design and implement systems to support local and hosted applications. You must be comfortable using and supporting automation systems to deploy and configure our applications in virtualized environments and be familiar with the technologies those applications are built on. You will think automation first and manual second. You must be comfortable in a team environment and be willing to manage multiple tasks. You will be a self-starter with the ability to complete tasks independently.

Responsibilities

* Manage Linux and related open source systems (RHEL6/7)
* Collaborate with development teams to roll out and automate configuration and release of builds to Production.
* Research, selection, planning, and implementation of new technologies to support scaling of applications to meet customer and business needs.
* Develop tools and scripts to assist with routine maintenance tasks.
* Plan and support the implementation of major architectural changes.
* Provide support for all related products and triage any issues that come up.
* Works collaboratively within a team environment.
* Conduct proactive and reactive performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues.
* Maintain documentation of systems and processes.
* Participate in on-call rotation

Qualifications

* BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
* 5-8 years' experience with Linux production operations including monitoring, resolution, administration, and engineering of a large-scale production environment.
* Experience with scripting and automation tools such as Puppet, Python, Ansible, etc.
* Prior experience with Active Directory and related protocols desired (e.g. Kerberos, LDAP, etc.).
* Strong experience with an understanding of virtualization (VMWare, etc.).
* Working knowledge of core Internet protocols and services (e.g., IP, TCP, UDP, NTP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSH, Syslog) required.
* Previous experience with SAN/NAS infrastructure desired.
* Working knowledge of Satellite.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with a delivery-based orientation.
* Demonstrated success collaborating and interacting with various teams on both business and technical issues to achieve common goals.
* Ability to describe in detail the steps and approach taken to complete your tasks.
* Certifications in RHCSA, RHCE, GCUX, and/or ITIL preferred.
