The AWS Security Operations Center (AWS SOC) is looking for a self-motivated Industry Specialist with physical security technology experience, problem-solving abilities, deep analysis skills, and strong customer obsession. You will work directly with AWS teams, identifying opportunities to improve the AWS physical security posture and direct global monitoring improvements. The AWS SOC owns the care and keeping of the enterprise physical security systems that secure AWS facilities. The Technology Integration team within the SOC is out in front of operations driving sustainable solutions. It is our mission to support new ways of doing security in consistent and sustainable ways, from a global monitoring perspective. You will define technology requirements; drive process improvements; test, verify, and document systems integration; and work with service owners to develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges. Your primary objective is to drive cross-AWS consistency and supportability, along with the capability to monitor technology solutions from centralized monitoring centers (regionally and globally).

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the desire to secure Amazon's next-generation cloud. We are looking for an individual with knowledge of physical security technology academics, understands systems integration principles, and can drive cross-AWS initiatives. The ideal candidate will draw upon exemplary project management capabilities, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a passion for creating reliable, maintainable, and secure systems. Candidates should live continuous process improvement and collaborate effectively with cross-functional business and security teams to solve problems and implement solutions. The successful candidate must have a record of accomplishment with physical security technologies (access control, video management, etc.), possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to analyze data from various sources. They need to be successful at multitasking, be self-motivated, and use discretion when dealing with sensitive information. The SOC is a global organization and supports project teams on a global scale; there is a high probability of consistent off-hour and weekend project support, given our global reach.

Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement global technical security integration strategies associated to centralized (and regional) monitoring.
* Physical Security Technology Subject Matter Expert, representing the SOC on a wide-variety of AWS teams, projects, and initiatives
* Manage security projects, which may involve teams from within the SOC, AWS Security, business teams, Data Center Operations, and occasionally with other Amazon divisions.
* Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair AWS's ability to meet strategic and technical goals.
* Establish technical security standards and processes that foster enterprise-level consistency and reliable operational practices.
* Research emerging security technologies to assess their applicability within the AWS physical or logical security programs from a monitoring, tracking, and risk-management perspective.
* Independently collect, research, and analyze operational information from a variety of sources to identify process and technological improvement opportunities.
* Ability to install, configure, and interact with security systems.
* Produce reports and papers for leadership regarding operational and technological strategy.
* Work as a process lead to bring stakeholders together to address business requirements and strategy.
* Up to 20% travel, both US and international.
