We're designing, developing, and delivering a completely new Virtual Reality shopping experience at Amazon. Every day, hundreds of thousands of customers visit Amazon to discover, research, and buy products. Millions of interactions are processed each hour, as customers navigate and explore our vast selection of products, features, and services around the world. Our aim is to provide simple, fluid, and beautiful experiences from the home page to checkout while enabling customers to make informed buying decisions, and delighting them along the way.
As the Senior Graphics Engineer and pivotal member of the VR project you will work in a greenfield role. You will have broad impact across the project and Amazon: acting at the forefront to bring graphics and computer vision research into reality, building and iterating on experiential prototypes, developing new effects and visualizations in concert with our designers and artists, optimizing rendering performance on a range of platforms, and defining cross-company standards for 3D assets. You will work with a fun and inclusive group of engineers, designers, and artists to use the potential of 3D and Virtual Reality to enable new shopping experiences for millions of people.
You'll be a great fit for this role if you think of yourself as an entrepreneurial and creative engineer. You're comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that's higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving problems at scale. You thrive in a highly collaborative environment working on the edge of art and science in creating visually realistic, performant, and delightful interactive experiences. You love applying your experience on the end-to-end graphics pipeline to new domains and platforms. You lead by doing while intentionally growing the skills and talents of those around you. You're excited by the impact of defining the future of the Amazon shopping experience in VR and are excited to grow with us in shipping our vision.
