Job Description

The Amyris Digital Technology team is looking for a talented Senior Front-End Web Developer to help architect, implement and optimize the consumer ecommerce shopping experience, primarily for Pipette (new baby brand) and ultimately drive revenue, leveraging the Shopify Plus platform and respective integrations. The goal of the Senior Front-End Web Developer is to support the technology underpinning Pipette, our new, start-up, baby skincare brand. The Senior Front-End Web Developer will work closely with the entire Digital, Creative and Marketing teams (designers, merchandisers, producers, project managers and business leaders) and proactively recommend solutions to enhance the site functionality, performance, testing and extensibility of our Shopify Plus stack. This role partners closely with our Ecommerce team on technical aspects of web related projects, collaborates with project managers & business stakeholders on priorities, feasibility, and timelines, and serves as a mentor to less technologically-savvy colleagues.

Responsibilities

* Own the code base related to the ecommerce set up and automation of pipettebaby.com including, but not limited to, front end code base, payment gateway, integration with fulfillment center, and custom script development
* Make theming refinements to pipettebaby.com
* Perform front end and back end performance optimization
* Work with digital, creative, and marketing teams to support their initiatives and needs on the site
* Research, evaluate, install, and configure Shopify Apps for various uses cases and functional enhancements
* Act as a technical liaison with vendors and agencies on rollouts of new market sites worldwide
* Develop and document both business and technical requirements for prospective and assigned projects.
* Advise business stakeholders about the scope & difficulty of efforts, as part of project & feature prioritization.
* Work with business stakeholders to understand and document their needs and priorities, document existing systems integrations as background information for new projects.
* Utilize bug tracking system and prioritize changes with business stakeholders
* Be part of a cross-functional team reviewing content updates and feature enhancements for quality
* In partnership with web developer(s), own, establish and maintain QA testing process

Requirements

* Absolutely necessary are very high standards for quality and a passion to innovate and self-motivation to grow. A strong commitment to learning and growth, the ability to research and independently identify answers and acquire new technical skills.
* 4-7 years web development and application development experience required
* Strong responsive UX, HTML, JavaScript, CSS expertise and functional programming
* Self-directed and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple projects and adhering to deadlines.
* Demonstrated knowledge of best practices for web development coding standards and compliant, SEO-friendly web pages.
* Commitment to QA across platforms. Must have experience developing automated testing for regression tests and cross browser/platform/device compatibility
* Proficient in building and consuming of Restful Web service, JSON based request response
* Proficient with writing unit test case using any of the testing frameworks like Mocha, Chai,Jasmine, etc.
* Experience with automation test framework
* Proficiency with Git/Github or other distributed version control systems
* Exposure/High level of interest in e-commerce
* Well organized with excellent attention to detail and quality. Must be proactive in retrieving and following up on all assets necessary to get job done on time and with quality, able to identify requirements to execute tasks
* Strong communication skills and an ability to contribute in a collaborative team environment
* Welcomes constructive criticism with an open mind, always seeking to improve work. Must be open to direction from team leadership and designers.
* Experience working on cosmetic/beauty/fashion or other aspirational consumer products category is a plus, but not required.
