SUMMARY

Hulu's Data and Analytics team is seeking a hands-on Data Software Reliability Manager who will be an exceptional addition to our team. In this role, you will build and lead the team responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability of Hulu's big data platform, which processes hundreds of Terabytes of data and billions of events daily. You should be an experienced but hands-on manager who can build an organization and ensure it performs. WHAT YOU'LL DO

* Build and grow a team of hardworking and motivated engineers with high expectations around individual ownership and impact
* Develop a collaborative culture for the Data Reliability team that embodies both industry best practices and Hulu values
* Direct daily operations of the team; carrying out priorities, monitoring and analyzing operational effectiveness metrics and ensuring problems are identified and solved quickly and efficiently
* With a focus on automation, collaborate with Data Architect team and Engineering teams to build system-level automated test frameworks, establish standard release management processes, promote related best practices across engineering teams in Hulu's Data Org
* Design and implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans and processes
* Foster a culture that uses metrics to make informed decisions and guide change
* Establish SLA with business partners and support infrastructure and data pipeline systems to operate within such SLA

WHAT TO BRING

* Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to build and develop teams
* 3+ years of hands-on experience in Reliability Engineering for high-performant, scalable and distributed data systems with a focus on automation
* Proficient with Linux systems and cloud environment (AWS)
* Deep understanding of CI/CD principles, data engineering and big data platform
* Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced operational environment, inspire change, and collaborate with a variety of individuals and organizational partners
* Solid project management skills and experience with agile/scrum
* Highly motivated self-starter with bias to action and passion for delivering high-quality data solutions
* Attention to detail and quality with excellent problem solving and communication skills
* BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Management or related field
