The team operates highly scalable business critical services that offers a 360-degree view of the customer. This provides Nordstrom with the ability to provide a personalized experience online or instore across all our different brands.

We're seeking a hands-on Senior Engineering Manager that can lead by example to help us build high performing engineering teams. This individual solves complex problems while ruthlessly pursuing wins that scale our systems to the next level of business and technical performance.

A day in the life…

* Manage and lead one or more engineering teams in an Agile environment
* Hire, coach, and develop a team of skilled and engaged software developers at various levels of seniority
* Contributes to design, coding, test plans, deployment planning and operations to drive engineering and operational excellence
* Responsible for managing SLA's and AWS spend for multiple services
* Partner with product and program management to develop product and technology roadmaps
* Accountable for delivery on outcomes from product and technology roadmaps
* Design and help develop complex systems at scale that meet SLA's, KPIS and engineering standards
* Collaborate and influence Sr. Technology, product management, program management and business leaders to recommend solutions and articulate trade-off's
* Understands Expertise with telemetry solutions and products available in the industry

You own this if you…

* 10+ years of professional software engineering experience and 4+ years leading and developing teams as a manager
* Track record of solving complex engineering problems at scale with outstanding business and technology results
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Leadership experience with hiring, mentoring and coaching engineers
* Responsibility as lead resource for dealing with challenging technical issues
* Experienced with developing high-performance micro services and applications in AWS
* Lead technical design, code/development, install, test and maintain highly scalable enterprise services around the customer domain
* Experience with Agile methodologies with a continuous improvement and quality mindset
* DevOps experience with track record of improving time to recovery and mitigating failures
* Highly experienced with various CI/CD process and tools GitLab, Containerization technologies
* Education: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field
* Experience: 10 years of experience in any software engineer / developer occupation
