Job Description

Modern vehicles require high-tech diagnostic and reprogramming solutions for automotive dealer technicians. The Senior Electronic Systems Specialist will oversee the QA of Honda's automotive diagnostic and reprogramming software (HDS) for North American dealers. The purpose of this role is to maintain Honda's quality diagnostic standards by understanding market needs and maintaining strong communication between local teams, developers, and users. The associate will also work as a business technical coordinator, leading local electronic tool development projects by developing schedules, defining milestones, and communicating progress to upper management. The associate's ability to maintain constant communication, and meet development milestones are critical for success.

Responsibilities:

* Develop and manage the HDS validation methodology and schedules. Lead the validation team to ensure service readiness deadlines are met. Ensure the HDS software is thoroughly tested and validated before being released to our dealer technicians
* Work as a project lead for new diagnostic tool projects. Assess the impact of proposed solutions and coordinate with Japan and North American Service Groups to ensure the solutions meet local requirements. Serve as a subject matter expert to ensure any proposed solution meets dealer needs
* Manage the validation and release of software to support market action activity. Coordinate software upgrade requirements between AHM and Japan based software developers. Validate proper operation of vehicle software, and communicate needed information to the service engineering, publications, and campaign groups
* Bachelor's Degree in Automotive Technology, Engineering, and/or equivalent work experience
* Five plus years of Automotive Diagnostic, technical experience using OE diagnostic and reprogramming software to troubleshoot DTCs, calibrate ADAS systems, reprogram and initialize ECU's, etc.
* Five plus years of software QA (development/lifecycle) experience, including experience with project management, validation best practices, and bug tracking applications
* Strong Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project) skills
* In-depth mechanical understanding of automobile emissions, powertrain, chassis, and body fundamentals
* Strong knowledge of vehicle system architecture and communication protocols, OBDII and vehicle network-specific SAE/ISO standards knowledge
* Strong computer networking knowledge
* Computer programming (.NET, Java, C) understanding is helpful
* Extremely strong communication skills and ability to work within compressed development schedules
