We are seeking qualified candidates for ECAD Application Engineer to support various hardware projects at Microsoft Corporation. The successful candidate will be the primary focal point for leading Cadence tool development and support activities, working very close to electrical engineers and layout design teams, to ensure we run world class tools environment. This candidate will contribute to the evolution of the design process and tools as our organization continues to grow and will be part of testing and evaluating new tools or tools features. Additionally, this person will provide basic and advanced training and Q&A sessions on Cadence tools

* 5+ years of experience using Cadence Capture CIS/OrCAD and/or DE-HDL schematic capture tools
* Knowledge and experience on using Allegro layout design tools
* Hands-on experience in design, development and launch of high-volume consumer electronic product.
* Knowledge on TCL, SKILL and/or other scripting and programming is a strong plus for the role
* Requires strong technical problem-solving skills, managing through ambiguity, organizing and documentation skills
* Excellent interpersonal, influencing, leadership, verbal and written communication skills required.
* Excellent project management, communication and teamwork skills required.
* Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or 10 years of experience in HW designing.

* Responsible for developing and maintaining the Cadence tools and tools environment
* Drive Cadence tools usage process and methodologies, BOM and variant management and related integrations to other systems
* Support schematic and layout design development by providing support, debugging tool issues and working closely with Cadence
* Provide Cadence applications installation and configuration setups and installation system.
* Conduct trainings on Cadence tools and internal processes
