Who we are looking for:

A Sr. DevOps Specialist works as a part of BlackBerry's Security Operations Center as a member Security DevOps team. In this role, you'll work collaboratively with internal support teams to deploy and operate our systems toolsets and help streamline our operations and processes through automation and orchestration pipeline tools.

How You'll Make An Impact

Develop and improve operational practices and procedures

Monitor production platform availability, stability and performance and troubleshoot/fix issues; automate operations activities

Design, implement, test, integrate and document software components

Technical Expertise

Good knowledge of ELK stack software

Software development experience, ideally in Python

Experience with Linux administration and tuning (Ubuntu, CentOS)

Experience with monitoring software such as Zabbix, Grafana

Strong experience in delivering and operating services in virtual and cloud environments

Strong experience in automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.

Experience with Containers: Docker and Kubernetes

Professional Experience

Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline, with a strong preference for computer science or related degree. Advanced degree is a plus.

Minimum of seven (7) years of DevOps experience in highly complex environments.

Experience with ELK stack software and SIEM systems

Experience working in DevOps and Agile teams

Strong aptitude for innovation; can recognize opportunities for improvement in day-to-day

work and take appropriate actions; ideally an enthusiastic individual

Strong interpersonal, collaboration, oral and written communication skills;

Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills with a strong attention to detail

Intermediate or higher understanding of concepts and practices from ITSM policies, frameworks, and regulatory compliance bodies such as SOC, NIST, ITIL, and ISO
