Job Description

Delivering software in a reliable and scalable manner is critical to the Workday user experience. The Workday OMS Service Deployment team is looking for Senior Software Engineer to lead this new and highly visible effort at Workday. As a highly skilled DevOps Software Engineer, you will be focusing on delivering the OMS service from development to production in one seamless automated fashion. The OMS Deployment team works closely with OMS platform teams, Cloud Engineering and DevOPs teams. Successful candidate will be a skilled Sr. Software Engineer with great length of proven experience of designing, delivering deployment technologies.

Responsibilities

* Design and implement software deployment framework
* Chef, Puppet, virtualization experience
* Comfortable with frequent code testing and deployment
* Coding/scripting guru in various languages
* Strong grasp of automation, experience with systems (Linux, networking) and their administration
* Ability to use, incorporate a wide variety of OpenSource technologies

Requirements

* BS or MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and 8+ years industry experience
* 6+ years industry experience programming in java, bash, php, python, or perl
* Experience with Linux OS system administration
* Strong trouble shooting and analytical skills
* Experience with Configuration Management Systems like Chef, Puppet or Ansible
* Solid understanding of Linux, storage architecture, and microprocessor architecture
* Detail oriented with great communication and documentation skills
* Experience working with Docker or Kubernates is a plus
* Experience of AWS or another IaaS provider is a plus
