About the Role

Freenome is looking for a DevOps Engineer to help us build reliable, maintainable, scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant infrastructure for our groundbreaking Discovery Platform to combat cancer and other age-related diseases. Our researchers and software engineers will depend on your delivery of a fail-safe, fast, and friendly developer toolset. Your work maintaining and improving the infrastructure will power our internal blood- and plasma-sample metadata databases and information transfer systems to ensure high uptime for our clinical lab and scientists. You'll also work on the High-Performance Computing clusters in the cloud that Computational Research uses to analyze the world's largest multi-analyte cancer genomics dataset. Since we're a small team, you'll also have an opportunity to design and build our security infrastructure and DevOps team as we grow.

Responsibilities:

* Develop and deploy reliable, scalable and fault-tolerant infrastructure that powers our Discovery Platform
* Architect, build, and deploy automated, tool-driven security management processes for monitoring our Google Cloud environment
* Maintain and improve our HPC platform for genomic research in concert with research scientists
* Build and deploy tools for automated and streamlined deployment and monitoring
* Work in tandem with software engineers and computational scientists to understand the product life cycle and team needs

What We're Looking For:

* 5+ years experience with DevOps, automation, and monitoring
* Coding experience, particularly in scripting languages like Python
* Experience with and practical knowledge of Linux
* Experience in Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Docker, Continuous Integration Tools, PostgreSQL, or Slurm / other HPC schedulers

Nice to Haves:

* B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a relevant technical discipline
