Senior DevOps Engineer

As a Capital One DevOps Engineer, you will be part of an Agile or platform team where you will participate in detailed technical design, development and implementation of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms. Working within an Agile environment, you will provide input into architectural design decisions, develop code to meet story acceptance criteria, and ensure that the applications we build are always available to our customers.

Responsibilities & Expectations:

* Stealthily plan and lead the deployment of the cloud solution in a production environment
* Develop scripts and glue code to integrate multiple software components
* Automate the provisioning of environments pulling strings with Puppet, cooking up some recipes with Chef, or through Ansible, and the deployment of those environments using containers, like Docker.
* Design and develop automation workflows, performing unit tests and conducting reviews to make sure your work is rigorously designed, elegantly coded, and effectively tuned for platform performance, and assessing the overall quality of delivered components
* Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or military experience
* At least 2 years of Python or Go development experience
* At least 2 years of Docker Container experience
* At least 2 years of experience with Kubernetes

Preferred Qualifications:

* 4+ years of experience in software development with Python, JavaScript, Angular, React, or NodeJS
* 4+ years of experience in Agile practices
* 3+ years of experience working with cloud-based infrastructure in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
* 3+ years of experience building with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and configuration management tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, Chef, Ansible or Puppet
* 3+ years of experience with Open Source projects and/or contributions
* 3+ years of experience with Go, Ruby, Erlang, or Java
* 3+ years of experience with GitHub, Artifactory, Jenkins, CircleCI and/or Drone
