BlackBerry Cylance is seeking a Senior level DevOps Engineer to ensure a best of class platform delivery and application management.

This position requires the ability to work in a wide variety of hosting environments and technology stacks. Additionally, this position will report into the Network Operations Center team and be responsible for understanding and escalating issues to ensure business continuity. The ideal candidate is ready and able to take on billions of requests a month, Petabyte scale clusters, application and platform life cycles, and all the challenges that come their way.

This position requires an equal mix of strong technical skills, cross-functional development team interaction, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, fantastic attitude and be comfortable tackling any challenge set before them.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

* Interact across multiple engineering teams and platform and product infrastructures within an AWS environment
* Support the NOC team in monitoring and escalating all issues per outlined Incident Management procedure
* Account for proper operations of Cylance applications and infrastructure after normal business hours in the United States
* On-Call pager duty
* Application and platform release management and maintenance
* Manage through and appropriately address both internal and customer support escalations
* Mentor and train Jr. staff members

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

* Bachelor's degree from a leading college or university preferred
* AWS Services (EC2, ELB, Elastic Cache Cluster, DynamoDB, Kinesis, AutoScaling, SNS, Route 53, Lambda, API Gateway, Cloud Formation, Cloud Front, IAM with Cross account policies, AWS CLI)
* Experience with very strong, large scale AWS automation/autoscaling/failover
* 5+ years of Linux/Unix systems administration experience in a high scale environment
* Expert knowledge of OS and networking troubleshooting
* 5+ years of Linux experience including experience with shell scripting
* Extensive experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, DataDog, Metricly
* Familiar with configuration management system like Puppet, Chef, or Ansible
* Familiarity with integration environment such as Jenkins
* Experience working with Github
* Consistent track record for delivering commitments on time and with minimal supervision
* Experience in cloud infrastructure and self-hosted environments
* Outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal
* Collaborative in nature and with strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to interact across a spectrum of development teams - from platform to client-side application
* Strong problem-solving skills with an owner mentality

ABOVE AND BEYOND

* Experience with scripting language
* Terraform (or something similar) experience
* Motivation to automate all task
* Create/Maintain documentation
