Job Description

The Microsoft Casual Games Studio is a small but growing team that is focused on delivering the best casual games for mobile, the web, and Windows. We have big ambitions for the future of gaming on the web and are looking for an experienced developer to join us as we modernize and expand our team's portfolio of Microsoft Casual Games. We are looking for self-driven individuals who can improve existing products, design the long-term technical foundations for new ideas, and then take those ideas from goal definition through ship to repeated adjustments and iteration.

* Strongly motivated and excited the prospect by working on a small nimble team, working both independently and in conjunction with other team members.
* 5+ years of full-stack professional web development experience.
* Familiarity and experience with the web development front-end landscape using technologies such as jQuery, Angular, React, or Vue, among others.
* Familiarity and experience with the web development back-end landscape using technologies such as ASP.NET, Node.js, Ruby on Rails, PHP, or Python, among others
* Expertise with at least one web development technology full stack.
* Experience building and supporting web services.
* Experience with responsive web design.

Bonus Qualifications and skills

* Experience with developing HTML5 web games.
* Experience with a web gaming portal.
* Experience with deployment and long-term management of web sites using Azure or a similar cloud computing service.
* Experience with designing and using telemetry data to measure and improve outcomes.

You will be chiefly responsible for:

* Carrying new web gaming projects from vision to release through iterative improvements in production.
* Building new services and improve existing ones to support our games and web presence.
* Owning the past, present, and future of the https://zone.msn.com casual web gaming portal through changing business goals and technology.
* Expert assistance and coordination on development of new and existing HTML5 games for both the internal team and external partners.
* "Lead without authority", growing other team members in a variety of roles in their gaming and web development skills and performance.

Like all members of the Microsoft Casual Games team, your general responsibilities will be:

* Helping to write functional requirements and specifications.
* Developing implementation plans for new experiences according to functional requirements & feature specifications.
* Consulting on a regular basis with project leadership to align expectations and deliverables.
* Collaborating with designers, artists, and other developers to deliver new experiences, tools, and new features.
* Fluidly multitasking between features, platforms, and projects.
