The Group: Morningstar's structured credit research and ratings subsidiary (MCR) is a Nationally Recognized Statistical Ratings Organization (NRSRO) that has earned a reputation for innovation and excellence in the structured finance market. This group aims to increase market transparency and provides the highest quality ratings through securities research, monitoring services, data, and technology solutions. The Role: We are looking for a Senior Database Analyst to join our team in New York. The ideal candidate should have a fixed income/structured finance background. The candidate should be a team player, possess excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), willing to work with various stakeholders from product, technology, and program management. A key part of this role is to bring automation into the way we generate reports or deliver data while working with teams located in New York and Chicago and liaising with a team in Mumbai. Responsibilities: • Plan and prioritize data task backlog and development for the data offering and help define the data vision, road-map and growth opportunities • The setting, prioritizing and evaluating the work generated by the technology team in order to ensure impeccable data coverage and data quality/functionality of MCR products. • Generate custom and periodic reports as per the specification provided by Business Stakeholders using database tables and stored procs. • Serve as an expert in Morningstar's data, calculations, and methodology by answering questions and escalations. • Troubleshoot data issues with rating workflow, web site and other components of MCR product. • Resolve database integrity issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, log issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc. • Maintain and strengthen existing relationships with fund companies and clients as well as 3rd party data providers. • Collaborate with global team members to continuously refine procedures, improve communication, create and enhance analytical tools, and implement process improvements. • Serve as an expert in Morningstar's data, calculations, and methodology by answering questions and escalations. Requirements: • Excellent grasp of RDBMS concepts and MS SQL Server. Good hold of SQL, PL/SQL, DB transactions, Data Integrity, and related concepts. • Detail-oriented self-starter with an enthusiasm to drive process improvements and knowledge sharing. Prior experience with LEAN methodology and tools is a plus. • Experience working directly with clients, asset managers, or third-party data vendors. • Some experience with programming languages like C#, ASP.net, IIS and Windows Enterprise Server is preferred. • Knowledge of DB access controls and privileges. • Ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design (stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints) and experience in creating database architecture with the associated schema as part of a software design process. • knowledge of database management such as backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands • 5+ years of relevant experience • A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related scientific field is required. 027_RealpointLLC Morningstar Credit Ratings LLC Legal Entity
