Job Description
Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. seeks a Senior Data Warehouse Engineer in Union, NJ to create overall technical solutions and design for Data Warehouse. Provide technical solutions, ETL design, development, and implementation of large scale multi-terabyte solutions and/or applications spanning Business, Financial, and Operations. Lead code reviews and solution documentation. Perform analysis and capacity planning to define 'best in class' solutions. Work with management to align solutions and data integration with business strategy and objectives. Apply broad in-depth business and technical knowledge advance technical direction. Lead technical discussions to impact solutions and data integration technology. Create complex technical solutions and design utilizing Ab Initio, Teradata and other technologies. Stay abreast of new ETL technologies, as well as new opportunities to develop team knowledge base. Utilize full life cycle experience in Data Integration, Data Warehousing, and Master Data Management. Understand the ETL/ELT and architectural principles of data integration and data warehousing. Work with on and off shore teams to insure 'best practice' standards and process.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field plus five (5) years of IT experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Must have five (5) years of experience in the following: Creating complex technical solutions and design utilizing Ab Initio and Teradata; Full life cycle experience in Data Integration, Data Warehousing, and Master Data Management; Creating solution designs, technical specifications, and ETL processing designs; Working as a designer/architect for ETL and EDW systems; Application integration including Real Time, Data Streams, and XML; Utilizing advanced technical tools and products used in data mart and data integration development, including Netezza and Unix in a distributed environment; Utilizing MPP and SMP architectures, Shell Scripting, Unix, and ETL tools for large data volumes such as Ab Initio scheduling tools including Tivoli; SQL, performance tuning, and test case analysis; Working in all phases of software development; and Data modeling and design considerations for analytical systems.
