Job Description

Amazon Web Services (Networking) is looking for a talented Senior Data Scientist to help manage our ever-growing information needs and support analysis of increasingly complex business questions. At Amazon Web Services, understanding disparate customer data is paramount to our success in providing customers with relevant and enticing benefits. In this role you will be responsible for using data analysis (e.g. statistical and machine learning models) to answer key business questions, with a focus on scaling the network. The Data Scientist role occupies a unique space at the intersection of technology, data and statistics, large-scale scientific computing, data modeling, and product management.

You will:

* Interact with engineering, operations, BI and business teams to develop an understanding and domain knowledge of processes, system structures, and business requirements that you will leverage to build scalable mathematical models to derive optimal solutions.
* Design and develop complex mathematical, simulation and optimization models and apply them to define strategic and tactical needs and drive the appropriate business and technical solutions.
* Ensure data quality throughout all stages of acquisition and processing, including such areas as data sourcing/collection, ground truth generation, normalization, transformation, visualization, etc.
* Build and release statistical models that elevate the customer experience and track impact over time.
* Maintain rigorous statistical standards and take ownership of the outcome your analyses suggest.
* Serve as a data analytical expert to various business and functional team members.
* Present analyses and recommendations to senior leadership and partner teams.
