Senior Data Engineer

Overview:

Weedmaps is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help architect, build, scale, and maintain a world-class data platform. We are seeking a qualified individual who is eager to ensure that our ability to store, process, and analyze data keeps up with our business growth and our ambitions. You would be an early hire in a fast growing startup and will have a significant impact on the design and implementation of the engineering vision as our company and team grows.

Responsibilities:

* Enterprise-wide data modeling and database design, processes and procedures for Data Governance, change management, taxonomy management and master data management.
* Working with Engineering teams as a Data SME, provide architecture design, development and oversight assistance ensuring holistic data strategy and scalable data flow architecture.
* Produce documentation of standards and guidelines for technical and functional audiences, data flow and architecture documentation of all related Platform services.
* Establishing and managing the ongoing maturity of the company's Business Glossary, driving consistent end-to-end data driven integration strategy.
* Develops a metadata management and repository strategy to manage all enterprise information architecture.

Qualifications:

* Strong data and schema modeling, ORM modeling, SOA and Domain Driven design architecture patterns, building highly scalable and secure solutions
* Strong understanding of AWS infrastructure and services, Python, Java/Scala, Ruby, Elixir or similar languages is required.
* Expert knowledge of various relational and non relational database systems (Aurora Postgres, ElasticSearch, Redshift, DynamoDb, Graph Databases)
* Exceptional documentation and communication skills.
* BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field
