Are you passionate about working with data, driven to dive deep, and eager to make a broad business impact? Amazon is looking for a talented, customer-focused data engineer to own the data infrastructure, data tools development and reporting for the Market Intelligence Team.
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the architecture, design and development of the data, metrics and reporting platform for the Market Intelligence team. You will work with analytic tools, write excellent SQL scripts, build automated web scraping solutions and partner with external and internal customers such as business analysts and market researchers to answer key business questions.
You will be responsible for streamlining, automating and integrating the delivery of structured and unstructured data that will drive a variety of talent-related research projects which range from researching individual candidates to analyzing macro market trends. In this role, you will have ownership of end-to-end development of data engineering solutions to answer complex market research questions. You'll play an integral role in strategic decision-making to solve difficult recruiting and HR challenges.
* Streamline and automate candidate data collection, tagging, and reporting * Develop solutions to automate extraction of unstructured data from external sources (social media, online blogs, review sites etc.) * Interface with other technology teams to extract, cleanse, transform, and load data into SQL/ Excel/ self-managed database from a wide variety of internal data sources (Oracle, Redshift etc.) * Integrate unstructured external data with internal data to develop coherent datasets for reporting, market research and analytics purposes * Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for business analysts and market researchers * Ability to interact, communicate, present and influence with both business and technical teams * Consult with business teams to understand their immediate needs and the long-term vision for using data to improve workflows and develop recommendations based on this business understanding
