Senior Configuration Management Specialist

Job Summary:

Perform the four basic elements of Configuration Management in accordance with Contract requirements. This position requires the ability to exercise independent judgment, to apply CM in accordance with the support requirements and the intended usage of the equipment.

Under minimum supervision and working within broad guidelines, this position is responsible for performing complex technical duties requiring a thorough understanding of company policies and specialized knowledge of Configuration Management. Duties performed will require some use of independent judgment, initiative, and discretion. Specific duties may include:

* Preparation of Configuration Management plans to specify the unique requirements for specific jobs. Perform budget, schedule monitoring, and prepare variance reports as required. Prepare bids and cost proposals for the CM effort.
* Provide support to the project and the program office to resolve CM questions or problems. Evaluate proposed changes to determine proper classification. Perform review of released engineering documentation to ensure that the required parameters are specified to permit configuration control.
* Control changes to documentation to ensure that only approved changes are permitted. Coordinate proposed changes to ensure that all affected documentation is identified. Track and report status on proposed and approved change requests. Track status of the accomplishment of approved changes.
* Participate in the conduct of configuration audits and prepare the minutes of the results.
* Performs other related duties as directed or as time permits.
* SME for CPI activities related to CM processes/business system applications for which CM has a role.

Required Education/Experience:

* Bachelor's Degree (Masters is preferred) in EE/ECE, or Computer Science, with a minimum of 10 years engineering experience in Configuration Management.


* A working Knowledge of MS Office, VAULT III or equivalent is required. Must be familiar with Mil-Std-480, Mil-Std-481, Mil-Std-482, Mil-Std-463, Mil-Std-1521, MIL-STD-31000, ASME Y14.100, MIL-HDBK-61A, ANSI/EIA 649.


* Working knowledge of Costpoint MRP/ERP or equivalent.



Special Requirements:

U.S. citizenship and a Secret clearance are required for this position.
