The SENIOR COMPUTER SPECIALIST will contribute to the growth and success of Airlift Northwest by executing its mission to provide safe, compassionate and exceptional patient care along with critical care transport services. The Senior Computer Specialist will be a part of the Airlift Northwest Information Technology team, primarily supporting the creation and maintenance of technology infrastructure along with a variety of software development tasks. This position will be responsible for designing, documenting, testing, creating and modifying both computer programs as well as server systems. It will require significant knowledge of modern development languages along with Windows core system design best practices.

This individual will be expected to adapt and adjust to the ongoing growth and system support complexities required to support a 24x7x365 air medical ambulance service. The Senior Computer Specialist will be tasked with performing complex configurations and adjustments to infrastructure based upon the very unique and challenging aspects of supporting a pre-hospital environment. This position will be instrumental in assisting integration operations with both UW Medicine and University of Washington systems, as well as designing and maintaining unique systems required for a first responder agency. As well as systems design and programming requirements, the position will also act as a lead to other technicians within the group as a proxy for the Technology Manager, as directed by the Technology Manager.

As a part of the Airlift Information Technology team this position will have a critical role in establishing concrete, best practice designs to on premise systems as well as looking at integration opportunities and centrally managed services. Position will further integration by utilizing tools already available within the Technology Recharge Fee stack, and looking to align with UW Medicine standards and procedures. This position will assist in the overall better integration and alignment with the University of Washington to increase productivity, decrease costs and improve patient outcomes and experiences.

Infrastructure maintenance and development:

Maintain, develop, fine-tune and troubleshoot core Windows infrastructure including but not limited to Active Directory domain services, file services, SQL database services and alike. Maintain, develop, fine-tune and troubleshoot core virtualization technologies such as vSphere and Hyper-V, supporting upwards of 40+ virtualized systems to support clinical, administrative and operational requirements of Airlift Northwest. III) Act as the primary contact for coordination with vendor and campus resources for networking issues. These include routing, switching, maintenance and configuration of the Integra Telecom MPLS inter-site network as well as coordination with the University of Washington NOC. IV)

Under the guidance of the Technology Manager, work to plan, develop and install new sites and bases as a part of Airlift Northwest's expansion strategy. Software application / API testing and development Upon request and approval of the Technology Manager, develop custom applications and software to meet the needs of Airlift Northwest individuals or departments where standard, out-of-the-box solutions cannot be applied. Work on API development, debugging, and testing. API work is necessary to support data interchanges between multiple flight, billing, and operational systems.

Assign daily / weekly checklists to front-line support personnel related to the ongoing maintenance and support of core infrastructure items. Use best judgement to right-size / pass off these duties to front line personnel.

Act as escalation point for front-line personnel resources for more complicated, higher tier support services. Utilize good judgement to make operational changes and escalate to Technology Manager when tactical or strategic decision making choices need to be made.

Regularly document, under the supervision of the Technology Manager, operational configuration and system changes made to core hardware and software infrastructure. Develop procedures for the resumption of technical operations at Airlift Northwest as part of the larger Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery plan developed by ALNW Technology Manager.

Lead Responsibilities:

Incumbent will be responsible for performing lead duties over a Senior Computer Specialist and Computer Support Analyst. Delegation of duties will consist of various items, including hands/eyes/ears support of infrastructure systems as well as delegation of less complicated systems tasks to free up the Incumbent to work on higher-level projects. The individual hired for this position will be tasked with right-sizing the kind of duties handed off, and verifying and reporting the effectiveness of these

Lead responsibilities over junior Analysts and Technicians.

REQUIRED:

Bachelor's Degree in Business and/or degree with a concentration in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cloud Computing, or related degree

4-5 years high level of knowledge and familiarity with the Microsoft server stack including 2008, 2012 and 2016. Experience with Active Directory, Exchange, and other Microsoft applications and services.

Development experience in a variety of languages along with understanding of best practices to support database administration.

Ability to work in a highly adaptive, fast-paced environment which needs to respond quickly to competitive forces by leveraging technology resources.

Experience and knowledge of network infrastructure along with best practices for workstation deployment, automation and setup.

Experience and knowledge developing both BC/DR plans related to IT systems as well as the ability to robustly document processes and procedures.

Ability to develop checklists and steps for junior analysts to follow to support production systems.

Equivalent experience may substitute for degree requirement

DESIRED:

Experience with the following unique, prehospital technologies: Flight Vector CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) system, emsCharts EMR, Zoll technology stack for billing purposes. Experience working with Microsoft Azure; experience and knowledge of contemporary containerization technologies to support the latest advances in infrastructure design.
