Platform Design Services is a core platform and infrastructure integrated team responsible for architecting, designing, building and deployed platform solution for the enterprise on premise or in the cloud. We thrive to build and deliver efficient reliable and scalable platform solution in a hybrid cloud environment. Our team has an innovative and disruptive opportunity for a Senior Cloud Architect to lead our expansion to the public clouds.

The ideal candidate is a creative and intellectually curious senior level system architect, who is passionate about leading edge distributed computing and cloud platform and have an obsession with efficiency using automation and devops tool chains.

As part of a high velocity, results-oriented team, you will play an integral part in designing and advancing the enterprise cloud technology eco-system and actively participate in building a culture of technical excellence.

Expectations:

* Strategize, lead or participate in the design of technologies that empower and enhance developer productivity including containers and container management and orchestration.
* Evangelize for automation and Infrastructure-as-code to support the fast and efficient deployment of hybrid cloud solution for IaaS and PaaS.
* Key contributor to design an end-to-end cloud automation of application delivery from containerization to integration with CI/CD platforms.
* Transformative contributor to the effort of implementing solution to support the adoption and deployment of cloud native services and APIs. You will help shape the devops architecture and engineering culture and best practices across the enterprise.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Under general direction, provide end to end design for the platform solution delivery cycle:

o Design and develop technical solutions to enhance the enterprise cloud environment on-premise or in the cloud.

o Working closely with the engineering teams to plan and lead all aspects of cloud and container management solution architecture and deployment pattern in a large production environment

o Design platform "migration factory" for workload migration or deployment

o Define and meet scalability, availability, security and performance goals for the solution

o Drive technical innovation and efficiency via automation and API solution

o Develops and maintains architectural artifacts, train and mentor other technology engineering in the adoption and use of cloud solutions

* Participate in research and analyze cloud and container technology trends for potential impact to the enterprise technology strategy.
* Communicate and work effectively with all levels of staffs including senior management and leadership
* Works with other technology teams to influence and practice continuous and iterative improvement to deployed solution
* Leads by example and provide mentoring to junior team members
* Leads and is consulted on complex and cross functional troubleshooting and problem resolution

Qualifications:

To be successful in this position, you will need a strong understanding and hands on experience with cloud native platform design architectural pattern and solutions for implementing and deployed IaaS, PaaS workloads in a hybrid deployment model

* BS in Computer Science or equivalent with
* 10+ years of platform architecture/engineering or system engineering with at least 2-3 most recent years of experience in distributed computing or cloud computing platforms (2 or more) including

o Kubernetes (Any flavor - cloud or on-premises)

o AWS and Azure cloud services (IaaS and PaaS)

o Container technology including LXC, Docker,Rkt

* Solid coding and automation development skills with experience in at least one of the following toolsets, languages: Python, GoLang, Ruby, Node.js, Javascript
* Comfortable and productive in at least two of the following configuration tools and automation platform:

o Terraform

o Ansible

o Azure Runbook/Azure resource manager, powershell DSC

o AWS Cloudformation and Cloudformation template

* Experience in CI/CD tool chains such as

o Atlassian Suite

o Jenkins
