Job Description

Position Overview:

The Senior BI Cloud Developer is responsible for developing tools, configuring services and deploying code to a cloud instance for the purpose of processing data used in reporting. The Senior BI Cloud Developer works with other developers to determine the best design to relocate on-prem database solutions to a cloud instance. This position requires collaborating with team members on technology, process and solutions to support over development goals and product roadmap.

Qualifications: Education/Licensing Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science
* Advanced degree a plus

Experience Requirements:

* At least 1 year of experience with developing solutions in at least 3 of the following Azure-cloud-based services:
* Data Factory, Stream Analytics, Machine Learning, Event Hubs, SQL Database, SQL Data Warehouse, Databricks, Azure SQL Database, Spark


* Experience with migrating on-premises database environments into the cloud (Azure)
* Experience with developing cloud-based data sources for reporting tools like Power BI
* Experience with Big Data, who will help design, build and maintain Big Data workflows/pipelines to process billions of records into and out of our data lake
* Experience with various messaging systems, such as Kafka or RabbitMQ (preferred)
* Experience creating conceptual, logical and physical data models.
* 2+ years' experience working within the healthcare industry preferred, but not required
* Ability to take ownership of projects and be self-directed.
* Ability to estimate development tasks accurately and meet agreed upon deadlines.
* Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Understanding of code promotion, version control, and QA procedures

Essential Job Responsibilities:

* Design and develop pipelines for Azure Data Factory
* Design and develop services for data integration, consumption and working with other team members that develop visualization
* Design and implement complex data models.
* Work with customers in data migration projects to build migration scripts and integrate with customer's existing databases and/or data feeds
* Work with software engineers and database engineers to ensure the overall application design is optimal.
* Review database design and code written by other database and software engineers.
* Design, implement and operate database systems for performance and reliability.
* Design and implement measurement systems to assess service delivery and key performance indicators of critical applications.
* Administer production and development databases, ensuring maximum availability.
* Build database tools and scripts that enable automation of tasks.
* Develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans
* Conduct capacity planning for the databases for future growth.
* Ensure that storage, archiving, back-up and recovery procedures are functioning correctly
* Prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
