DESCRIPTION:

CBS is seeking a Senior Security Business Analyst to join its Information Security Group (ISG). The role will work closely with CBS Network and CBS Studios as well as the Business Information Security Officer for those divisions to ensure that all assets, including those related to broadcast and production, are adequately protected. The analyst will partner with division and corporate technical teams in order to select, document, and measure appropriate security controls. Additionally, the analyst will support ISG's security program by developing and collecting metrics to monitor the ongoing effectiveness of security processes and controls. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of security controls and how they can be implemented to reduce risk while not having a negative impact to business operations. He/she must be willing to quickly learn the systems and processes used to support content creation and broadcasting.

Responsibilities:

* Support the Business Information Security Officer (BISO) in advancing the maturity of the information security programs within the CBS Network and CBS Studios divisions


* Work with the Information Security Group (ISG) and division technical teams to identify and implement security controls as needed


* Advise division technical personnel about technical security controls to protect systems and workflows


* Develop, gather, and report on metrics from sources within ISG and the divisions on an ongoing basis to monitor the effectiveness of security controls


* Conduct periodic security assessments to gauge compliance with ISG policies and other security standards (e.g. NIST, Critical Controls, etc.)


* Support overall improvement of security processes and documentation within the Network and Studios divisions



QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

* 5+ years of experience in a combination of IT and Info Sec roles


* Understanding of the widely accepted security standards (e.g., ISO 27002, NIST, Critical Controls, etc.)


* Knowledge of networking, operating systems, and application concepts as well as the relevant security controls for each


* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


* Advanced communication skills (both verbal and written)


* Ability to communicate technology issues to both technical and leadership personnel


* Critical thinking skills and the confidence to speak up about matters that need attention


* Proven ability to work with others in a team environment


* Good time management skills and ability to prioritize work while meeting all deadlines


* Proven ability in learning/communicating related to technical systems


* Strong degree of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Project, etc.



Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, related field, or equivalent work experience

Preferred:

* Industry certifications such as SANS and CISSP would be a plus
