Position Summary

The primary role of the Sr. Business Analyst is to act as a liaison between business partners and IT teams; Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for the business domain and conduct/manage the knowledge transfer with the testing and development teams. Understand, review, analyze, and evaluate business partner needs.

The Sr. Business Analyst is responsible for documentation of business requirements based on business needs and objectives. Recommends solutions and ensures business needs are met. This role is critical in decision-making as it gathers detailed requirements from our business counterparts. The role is also very strategic as it is a customer-facing function where the BA relationship with the business is critical.

The Sr. Business Analyst will join a team consisting of high-performing individuals that execute on a broad range of activities, including elicitation and scoping, requirements analysis, systems analysis, functional architecture, interface architecture, and knowledge management.

This role will focus on the Film Music business. The role will interact with key stakeholders in the Music Group and will provide support for the music applications. The role will help develop business requirements and will be a focal point for managing application releases. A good understanding of data analytics is required.

Job Responsibilities.

* Serve as liaison between Business and IT; translating business needs into functional business requirements. Collaborate with business partner to define project scope and business requirements for small to medium business requests.
* Generate mock ups for new screen designs and new reports; review and get stakeholder buy in
* Act as the SME for the business domain and conduct/manage the knowledge transfer with the testing and development teams.
* Elicit and document technical requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, and/or other means
* Develop user stories and break down requirements into deliverable functionality
* Analyze business problems and identify solutions that meet business goals
* Analyze application and business domain data requirements and business rules, understanding the data flow from source to screen
* Partner with the various software development and technical services groups on the technical design and development process ensuring business requirements are understood and delivered
* Negotiate and communicate priority for new features and capabilities
* Work directly with a product owner, business stakeholders, designers, developers, and engineers to coordinate the building of applications to spec and on time
* Recognize and predict use cases to help design intuitive applications. Create, maintain, and execute key testing artifacts such as test strategy and test plans
* Drive the overall planning process associated with user acceptance testing
* Maintain functional and technical applications documentation
* Excellent ability to relay highly complex information to others and have it interpreted correctly, presenting messages in a way that enhances understanding for large scale complex projects
* Strong ability to consistently anticipate users' needs through an in depth understanding of a users' requirements and desires
* Understand and apply Corporate IT standards, designs and documentation standards into recommended project.
* Prepares project documentation like meeting minutes, business process documents and other process workflow diagrams as required
* Work with business partners to develop acceptance criteria and a plan to facilitate user acceptance testing to ensure that the solution meets the business needs.
* Provide regular updates and communicate business concerns or feedback to the Project Manager/Team as appropriate.
* Identify and communicate risks to delivering solutions on time and on budget to the Project Manager; provide support as appropriate to resolve issues.
* Participate with Business and Project Team in planning and executing training programs and/or demonstrations related to the launch of new solutions.
* Providing on-call and backup support for existing systems and functions

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's Degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

5+ years of relevant IT industry work experience including business analysis, system analysis and SDLC management. Entertainment industry experiences a plus.

Experience gathering and documenting business requirements

Ability to work closely with business partners and technical teams

Interact with internal and external organizations (i.e. vendors, service providers, etc).

Must possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Must be detail-oriented and thorough with the ability to meet aggressive deadlines.

Must be flexible and effective at multi-tasking.

Effective in a variety of formal/informal presentation settings: one-on-one, small and large groups.

Must be pro-active with issue identification and resolution.

Strong understanding of IT environments, technologies in relation to the business needs.

Proven practical experience with analysis and/or support to IT business processes.

Strong ability to perform analysis of small to medium complex business, workflow, and technology issues to support decision-making.

Good understanding of relational database concepts, (SQL).

Ability to adapt to changing business requirements
