Overview:

OmniSci, Inc. is seeking a Senior Backend Test Engineer to test our backend core product. You will be part of the Backend QA team of three conducting both automation and manual testing, validating all bug fixes and new features. Previous seasoned experience with Python and SQL are required, as well as previous experience doing both automation and manual testing (you should be comfortable doing 50/50 manual and automation testing). You will report to the QA Manager and will be based in our downtown SF office HQ. This is not a remote position. Local Bay Area candidates only, please.

Responsibilities:

* Strong programming and scripting fundamentals with a high degree of fluency in Python and shell
* In-depth SQL knowledge and usage of database systems such as MySQL, SQLite, and PostgreSQL
* Solid understanding of security standards e.g., LDAP and SAML
* Deep understanding of HA and distributed systems
* Strong UNIX/ Linux/ Windows administration skills
* Experience with Modern web services architectures, cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc…)
* Passion for agile, test-driven development, continuous integration, and automated testing
* Knowledge of containers (Docker) and Container Orchestration Systems eg., Kubernetes
* Working knowledge of operating systems CentOS/RHEL and Ubuntu

Qualifications:

* Minimum 5 years experience as a Senior Backend Test Engineer or relevant work experience in a testing role
* Develop and maintain automation test cases across all functional areas of our products
* Develop and maintain smoke, acceptance, API, loading, and infrastructures
* Develop and maintain automation test framework that can support multiple environments and databases
* Monitor, analyze and report automation test results by aligning test case coverage to internal testing metrics
* Collaborate with a fast-growing product team to maintain the highest caliber of technical deliverables around our released products
* Identify root causes, propose test cases and fixes, and develop new debugging processes while working closely with the development team
* Perform release validation with manual and automation testing

* Exposure to GPUs
* C++ and selenium web-driver experience
