Job Description

THE POSITION

This position will have overall responsibility for defining and gathering business requirements and supporting users within the Finance & Accounting area. The Senior Finance Applications Analyst will lead a team that will include business users and consultants and is responsible for systems implementation initiatives and production support.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strategic - Planning and Architecture - 25%

Develops timeline for the development of Finance & Accounting system functionality according to prioritization of Business User Group.
Analyzes and determines internal Finance & Accounting business/system requirements and 3rd party vendor capabilities as input to project planning.
Performs data flow modeling, workflow analysis and functional analysis to support and identify Finance & Accounting business requirements.
Creates project plans, risk logs, issues logs and project status reports.
Develops and revises process maps, user stories, user flows and acceptance tests as input to system implementations and upgrades.

Business Relationship & Project Leadership/ Management - 25%

Accountable for business relationship with Finance business team through active collaboration and partnership
Leads and supports project teams through the project lifecycle of both Finance & Accounting & Technology improvement and reengineering initiatives including design, development/configuration, testing and deployment.
Leads Finance & Accounting change management and incident activities to ensure business objectives are met.
Manages multiple projects to meet business deadlines.

Functional Organization Support and Coordination - 15%

Works closely with Business Subject Matter Experts to develop, implement and test Finance & Accounting system functionality.
Interacts with upper management (e.g. directors and hiring managers) as Systems Administrator for all Finance & Accounting applications to identify appropriate security and access functional requirements (e.g. for new hires and role changes) and ensure they are met and maintained.
Coordinates with management to facilitate the hardware/software procurement process for all Finance & Accounting applications.
Meets regularly with IT Director and Finance / Accounting Directors to prioritize deliverables and deliver status updates.

Design Development - 10%

Develops business and systems specifications.
Participates in defining detailed user requirements.
Contributes to developing detailed functional specifications.
Contributes to developing detailed program design specifications.
Participates in process reengineering and streamlining processes.

Implementation - 5%

Organizes and reviews all testing activities.
Participates in executing unit/string/system tests.
Manages project deployment efforts.

Documentation - 5%

Manages the preparation of systems/business process documentation.
Participates in developing user documentation.

Training and Support - 10%

Provides user training, hand off and support of all Finance & Accounting functions (e.g. Planning, Budgeting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Cost Accounting, Month End Processes and Financial Reporting).

Vendor Relations - 5%

Supervises Application Solution resources and outsourced implementation and/or support resources.
Communicates business requirements to Application Solutions Providers.
Coordinates with various 3rd party vendors on system capabilities and implementation.
Executes hardware/software procurement, licensing agreements and support contract renewals.

QUALIFICATIONS

Functional and Technical Skills

Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Technology and/or business related field, MBA preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience with ERP systems roll-outs (SAP S4 HANA), business process re-engineering and providing on-going ERP systems support required
Minimum of 5 years of experience with integrations to third party systems including procurement systems, invoice imaging solutions required
Demonstrated ability to successfully evaluate, select and supervise Application Solution Providers and outsourced implementation and/or support resources
Experience in Consumer Products industry selling through major retailing chains (Food and Beverage industry preferred)
Thorough knowledge and understanding of business principles and processes, especially in the area of Finance & Accounting
Understanding of cost accounting preferred
Strong process driven analytical skills
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Management Skills

Demonstrated experience leading and supporting project teams through the project lifecycle methodology including design, development/configuration, testing and deployment
Experience leading and supporting Finance & Accounting process improvement and reengineering initiatives
Experience in project planning and control with strong planning and organizational skills
